Fraud Alert 05-13-08

It has come to our attention that counterfeit First Lincoln Federal Credit Union cashiers checks are being distributed around the country in connection with an email scam.  DO NOT cash these cashiers checks.  The toll free telephone number listed on the checks is also fraudulent and is not affiliated with First Lincoln FCU.  Contact your local police department if you have been victimized.  If you would like to speak with someone here at the Credit Union, you may contact Deb at 402-466-4040.

BEWARE of Suspicious e-mails
Phishing (pronounced "fishing") is a method that criminals use to obtain your personal and account information.  If you receive an e-mail asking for your personal and/or account information, DON'T OPEN IT, CLICK ON ANY LINK OR ATTACHMENT and definitely don't respond to it.  In many cases these e-mails are meant to look like your financial institution is making a request for you to verify your account information but this is not the case.  No financial institution will ever ask you to verify your account information online.  If you have a question about a suspicious e-mail or respond to such an e-mail and provide any confidential information, please give us a call immediately!
